1733 makes bespoke bags as well as anyone. Attention to detail, build quality, design… it’s all there. Thing is, they are NEVER in stock. If you are in need of a large cross shoulder or fanny bag, now is your chance.
Trayvax is sort of famous for their aluminum framed slim wallets. Traditionally, they’ve been sleeve style wallets with multiple pockets. Recently, however, they’ve released a new folding wallet featuring an aluminum frame and it seems to be more flexible than their earlier offerings.
The Vanquest Dendrite is a sort of under the radar, low cost, sling solution with a ton of space. I think it’s been ignored in large part because of the strange colors it was sold in… But today, Vanquest released it in black.
The 2022 Travel Collection from AER is now complete with the release of a small carry-on pack called the Flight Pack 3. I was sent one of these to play with and like everything made by AER, it features gorgeous build quality and smart design. To be frank, it’s the perfect carry-on if you check a bag and just want to carry the essentials with you.
Evergoods is back at it… This time, they are introducing a really streamlined 20L pack. If it’s made anything like their previous offerings, expect high end at a decent price.
This is old news, but the Bellroy X Carryology collabs are out. Ironically, Bellroy owns Carryology. BUT, I like this “all back” and hi-vis orange look much more than I like the typical Bellroy aesthetic. It just looks more purposeful.
So, I’ve been asked about this bag more than any other I own. Essentially, it’s a GORUCK Kaidan Bullet in 15L that I’ve outfitted to become my main camera bag. Here’s a short list of the details:
Anyway, this is by far and away the best Camera Backpack I’ve ever used. I still use slings when I need to be more mobile, but if I’m on location this is the bag I take. To me, it’s all about flexibility and no one does big open spaces (ripe for self organization) like GORUCK. Highly recommended.
I mentioned this a few weeks ago, but it’s real now. If you are one of those guys that have waited years for Remote Equipment to re-release the Alpha 31, it’s not available for pre-order. If in doubt, just buy it… If you don’t like it, you can easily get your money back on the used market.
