Zenith X Hodinkee Chronomaster

Hodinkee always does collabs in the right way… And that shit didn’t change when they hooked up with Zenith. I’d call this a chronomaster/Primero mashup of sorts? Regardless, it’s as perfect as a Zenith could ever be. $10k. Damnit.

Simple folding design. Light, but made of good materials. It’s no Eames Lounge Chair, but it’s not as uncomfortable as it looks. Just really good design.

PRODRIVE & CALLUM

A reader saw my simulator post and decided to one-up me. Introducing the $46,000 simulator crafted for Prodrive by Callum’s studio. It’s insanely expensive and incredibly gorgeous. But one has to ask – why not use that 50k on an actual race car?

Racing Sims

After a post from last week, I was emailed lots of questions about Racing Sims and where to get acquainted. I would suggest watching some YouTube videos to get an idea of what you are in for… From what I understand, it can get very expensive… But from what little experience I have, I can tell you that it is crazy immersive and about as close as you can get to the real thing without risking health.

Anyway, I recommend two channels:

  1. GPLaps. This guy focuses on vintage racing on older platforms that have mods to make the cars handle realistically. This looks less serious and more fun perhaps?
  2. Super GT. Modern GT racing… This guy races with a lot of F1 drivers, but mostly Lando… Super entertaining.

This is rad… So, Jaguar won Le Mans in 1951 with a C-Type, right? As of today, you can still buy a brand new one. Well, at the very least, one restored by the Jag factory people.

For the very few of you that are camera nerds, this is sort of a big deal. CameraQuest is gonna be releasing the new 50mm Nokton today. Dirt cheap for a 50mm F1.0 with solid reviews ($1,799) and build quality almost that of Leica.
