I admit it... I folded the minute that Apple announced the pre-order date and my iPad showed up on my door step on the release date. I've had a couple of weeks with the devic... To read the rest of this blog entry from The Gear Journal, click here.

When I saw the ipad release online I instantly convinced myself that I didn't need it. I've got an iphone and a MacBook Pro.... there's no way I needed one of them. I even spent some time thinking of all the potential uses for businesses and education that I wouldn't need, but would be of benefit to some. It certainly opens a lot of doors for business.

I don't need one. However, I spent some time with one the other night and agree with everything Ryan wrote in his blog. Cruising the internet was awesome. Looking at pictures was heavenly. I'm not used to the keyboard yet, but I'm sure I would. Kinda like when I switched from Blackberry to iPhone. I still have a lot of questions, but overall I want one. I'm really excited to see what kind of apps are developed for it and how it will change things.

You guys are killing me. I've fought back my primal nerd urges to get one so far. I've convinced myself to wait at least until 3G version rolls. Now they're showing the possible Iphone due out in June on Gizmodo. All this happening while I'm trying to build my first real hot rod....geez....where's the lottery when ya need it.....

Ok, lets go back to caveman world. We have NO coverage for the Iphone here. I can barely get internet at teh office since we are 100 yards from the closest truckstop that has a good connection. the world is not candy coated. We are dealing with shit out here in the country that will make most of you say WTF? What is the point of this? I am jealous, I am lucky to get a signal.................but Black Hills weather is better than Austin!

Well, I’d been wondering about this. I was kind of forced into an iPhone, but I’ve come to really like it. Still, I couldn’t see the use of this not-quite-a-laptop thing.

I could probably be persuaded to buy one now. I think my wife would like it around the house.

I just picked up a couple of 64 G ipads with 3G AT&T/wi-fi. Easier to read the HAMB on an ipad than an ipod touch when you're old!

My iPad was thrust upon me by my father-in-law. He's a tech whore and I get to reap the benefits. I really like the netflix streaming and he put some VFR and IFR flight planning apps on it. It's great for the kids in the car when I load movies on it. I am really impressed with the battery life.
