John, I don't believe it...are we the ONLY two guys around here that understand and appreciate this stuff???!!! You beat me to the Quigley, that was my next post!!! No other cowboy action fans around this place???
If you like, I also did a post on Granddaddy's sidearm. Might just be your cup of tea. Pete |

I read that post. I was actually looking at possibly getting one of the newer S&W 1917's they are making now. I'm a fan of the 1911 and carry one when I carry. Either that or a 4" S&W 686. I'm 6"2 and 250lbs so it's not a bad combination for me. I've always liked the .45ACP and think other than .44Mag, there's not a better round to be had for all around general purpose use.
On Quigly, I would love to have a Sharps in 45-70-120 one day. I could never make those shots but I know people that could. |

John, I'm a much smaller guy, but also carry the 1911, except in the officer's model. Love both .45s- the 1911 Colt and the 1917 Smith, but there's a soft spot in my heart for my stainless .357 Smith. Easy to shoot, can't hurt it, love those wheel guns.
