I need a light that I can use and still have my hands free. So I figure I need a headlamp, can anybody recommend one?
I am about to pull the trigger and get a Petzl Tikka unless anyone has any other recommendations. |

I have always liked the petzl zipka and elite. The zipka has a retractable cord that is useful for securing the headlamp to your wrist.

Petzl is a good affordable option. Thanks to LED technology the battery life lasts a long time.
I don't know how crazy you want to get, but NiteRider offers some HID headlamps that are brighter than most cars headlamps. They're rechargable battery but pretty spendy. They're sold for cycling and hiking, but I suppose you could use them for anything. WAY overkill for most people though. Let us know what you end up going with. |

I just saw that my post got bumped back up... I came back to see what flashlights people liked. I didn't see the replies on my headlamp question until now.
Anyway I got the Tikka and liked its so much I also got a Tactikka. I don't do anything heavy duty with them, just working on things around the house and found that hands free lighting is great. |

Hi, glad to see you have owned one. BTW, what do you use it for most of the time? camping or just household use? Rencently I have to ride my bicycle at night, I'm considering to attach a fleshlight to my bicycle or use the headlamp light. AND I found Tactikka might be a little expensive for me
![]() so I'd like to ask you if this is also OK?(for me, performance-to-price ratio is more important than brand )3 Mode 250-280 Lumen Focus LED Headlamp Light with Charger Black
