Default Hacked Thumb Drive

This is nuts... A buddy of mine sent me this and I still can't get over it. His thumb drive enclosure cracked, so he decided to engineer and machine his own indestructible casing out of aluminum.

Very, very cool...

wow, very clean work...the only thing I'd change is switching to stainless hardware since the black heat treated ones will rust from your skin touching it...very nice work though, and ingenious...

Hmm, this gives me an idea for that scrap piece of titanium I have that is too small to do anything with...
Do you know if he bought the internals without the casing from somewhere or did he just break the rest of the plastic off?

water tight seal....mmm, great for when you forget to take them out of your clothes pockets, and they go for a ride through the washing machine.....time after time...could use one of these.....
